2nd June - 4th June - Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival 2017

family holiday Isle of Wight

With its roots dating back to 1959, The Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival is a well-established great family day out.

The race originated when 3 local Gaffer skippers organised a race in Solent waters surrounding the Isle. This soon became an annual event and gained popularity with each successive race. In 1963 the race was combined with a neighbouring event on the East coast of the Isle and the Old Gaffers Association was born.

The event grows bigger each year and this year's event will include live music, street entertainment and much more.

8th Jun - 11th Jun 2017 - The Isle of Wight Festival

The Isle of Wight festival has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the biggest UK festivals, attracting some of the world's best known artists to come and perform.

For four days the Isle plays host to over 50,000 festival goers, many of whom make use of the camping areas offered.

Due to the huge numbers of visitors to the Isle during festival time, if you are planning a trip, but want to avoid the crowds it is best to do a bit of research beforehand.
